  1. Welcome to this special Demo version of Band-in-a-Box Version 7.0
  2.  
  3. This demo expires January 1st, 1999 and is for distribution only
  4. at www.pgmusic.com.

  6. Band-in-a-Box is an "auto-accompaniment" music program. You type in
  7. chords to a song, using standard chord symbols like C or Fm7. Then
  8. pick a style and press PLAY. BB then generates a full arrangement,
  9. playing it back through your MIDI driver (soundcard or external
  10. module).

  12. This demo version allows you to play songs, and enter new songs.
  13. The following features are disabled in the demo: Save (of songs
  14. or styles), Generating Solos, and notation.

  16. To try out the demo, first choose a MIDI Driver (Opt-MIDI Driver
  17. menu item) , then Play some songs (choose File-OPEN and press PLAY
  18. button). See tutorials in on-line help for more information.

  23. Alternate Language Support

  26. PG Music is committed to providing multi-language support
  27. for Band-in-a-Box.

  29. At this time, French, Danish, German, Italian, Portuguese,
  30. Spanish, and Swedish Language support are available. 
  31. The small file 'language.ini' stores the current language
  32. setting for Band-in-a-Box and is included here set to English.
  33. To switch between English and any other language that you
  34. have support for, use the Edit | Language menu item inside
  35. Band-in-a-Box.

  37. Installation Notes:

  39. All of the files should be installed to the 'home directory' of
  40. Band-in-a-Box (we suggest C:\BB).
  41. Files like Styles, and Harmonies *must* reside in this 
  42. home directory, so that they can be found by the program when needed.

  45. BBW 7.0 requires a computer with 4mb RAM or more. 
  46. Enhanced mode with swap file of at least 10 mb is recommended.
  47. This is set in Windows 3.1 - Control Panel - 386.
  48. It will not run on a 2mb machine.
  49. Programs that compress memory eg.,"DoubleRAM" are not recommended.
